I find myself having some of the most personal conversations with my clients that ensure that I never forget that while we may talk about business strategy or plans, tactics, processes, staff, financials. Behind it all is you, the person. And that person has relationships, responsibilities, stresses, doubts. Nothing can highlight those as much as money does.
Over the next couple of weeks the Firmer Figures Show is taking a closer look at how business and money affects the family. Particularly our children.
Despite being one of easiest roles to get (for most people), you don't have to apply for it. Parenting is one of the most difficult to get right, even with the best of intentions.
Deciding to work for yourself is a big enough undertaking if you are free and single. When you have a family to think about, the pressure to make something of what you are doing becomes even greater.
It is a subject I will visit many times in the show because the family is so important.
Today I welcome a lady I had on my list of people to interview from the start of my podcast. She is known as the Happy Childhood Expert. She is a featured expert for BBC Breakfast, BBC Radio and Sky News.
Her company, Parent 4 Success, has helped hundreds and hundreds of parents deal with issues such as anger problems, not sleeping, anxiety, school issues, divorce and more.
Today she is going to give us her insight into a problem that is more common than is realised, children, or in this case, teenagers who steal from their families.
You will also hear
- The common causes of this behaviour
- Whether teen stealing is really about money and having things?
- An example case study
- Why calling the police on your child is often a good thing to do
- Some tips and steps parents can use to deal with the situation, if they are affected by this.
- Where to go to for further information.
